Katherine Pye was the Clara Marina O’Donnell fellow (2020-21) at the CER. Her research is focused on European security and crisis management, EU peacebuilding operations and EU-Africa relations.

Before joining the CER, Katherine was a trainee at the Council of the EU where she worked on civil protection, the Council’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Working Party on Humanitarian Aid and Food Aid (COHAFA). She has also worked as a programme assistant in peace, security and defence at the Brussels-based think-tank Friends of Europe.

Katherine holds an MA in International Relations and Diplomacy from the College of Europe (Belgium) and a BA in History and Politics from Magdalen College, Oxford.
